Ready, set, take off

On Sunday last week, the day that I have been waiting for finally arrived. It was time for my departure to Singapore. During the past few months there has been a lot of paperwork and deadlines, much more than I first anticipated. It has been a bit stressful at times, but it is nice that this part of my exchange will soon be over and I will start focusing on my thesis project. Those of you that are considering going on an exchange to Singapore, remember that what they say about starting early with the paperwork is truly a great idea! In my case I was still finishing some things that needed to be done during the last days before my departure.
It has been quite a busy week with a lot of orientation activities, paperwork for the student pass and meetings with the lab as well as online modules for lab safety etc. However, I’m slowly getting settled in this country and most of all getting used to this weather. Since it is raining season the weather is a bit unpredictable, especially when you are not used to it, but if you always bring an umbrella or have time to escape the rain in one of the malls it is just fine.
Yesterday I went with two friends to look around in the city, which was beautiful. Since it started raining cats and dogs we had to change our plan to go and see the light-show in the Gardens by the Bay, so we will have to come back. Luckily we have 4,5 months to do so.

See you here again soon!
